The Arc SW is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with mental retardation and developmental disabilities and their families through education, leadership, advocacy and support.

Our goal is a brighter, more inclusive future for people with developmental disabilities, so everyone can live full and complete lives as valued and engaged members of Minnesota communities. Inclusion is our passion, our priority, and our promise.

Arc provides support to and advocates for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families so they can choose how they live, learn, work, and play in their communities. Arc chapters provide crucial information for people with developmental disabilities and their families, connect them with resources, and stand with them when they need an advocate. We are made up of persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities, their parents and family members, advocates and professionals working in the disability field, and concerned citizens.

We need volunteers in all areas of our work. We need help with our programs and providing direct support to people with developmental disabilities as well as office support to get the work behind the scenes done to ensure our programs run smoothly.
