LEEP: Where recreation Has No Limits

LEEP provides recreational and sporting opportunities, including Special Olympics, to people with disabilities in the greater Mankato area. We serve individuals with developmental disabilities over the age of 8, however the agency's largest population are adults. LEEP participants have some form of a mental disability and may have physical disabilities and/or mental illness. Consumers may live independently, in a group home, an adult foster care setting, with family members, or in a supervised living situation. There are approximately 750 people in the greater Mankato/North Mankato area who participate in LEEP programs throughout the year, many of whom participate on a weekly basis.

LEEP Goals:
  • Offer recreation programs that enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities.
  • Teach lifelong leisure skills.
  • Assist with inclusion of participants into existing community programs.
